The Herd

Currently, the herd consists of 16 horses and 3 donkeys, each with diverse breeds and personalities creating a safe and nurturing environment for themselves and those who join them. Their is to raise awareness about the natural way of life for horses, uniting in this community to that purpose.

Within this larger group, they naturally form smaller family units, much like wild horses. They roam over 200 hectares of varied terrain, including, meadows, and the characteristic Montado with its majestic cork and stone oaks providing a healthy habitat enriched by natural water sources.

The herd follows the instincts of wild horses, their own social structures and rhythms. This natural style promotes a and healthy nervous system among the members, allowing them to thrive in safe and stable environment free from stress or disruptive influences. The harmony of this herd fosters a resonance that helps human visitors reconnect with their own sense of stability and peace.

By rehoming many rescue horses, we address the topic of trauma within the community. Observing their healing journeys enhances our understanding of behavior and trust-building. closely accompany the herd without interfering in their interactions, respecting their needs while also considering the land’s voice. This enables us to implement a supportive grazing management that plays a vital role in regenerating the property.

To keep the horses healthy and balanced, we offer techniques like bodywork ( Horse Yoga, physiotherapeutic exercises and massage), energy work and plenty of joy. This holistic approach helps each horse reach their highest potential, fostering openness and connection. Our support aligns with herd's natural rhythm throughout the seasons, ensuring that each horse feels seen and appreciated, motivating them to express their unique gifts.
